When did rock die?
Putting all good causes aside for a minute, this weekend I watched in awe as Maltese "rockers" screamed in euphoria, watching a failed imitation of Bonjovi by a German band who couldn't even speak English... and all on local TV! When did rock die?

Actually, rock did not die, it merely reverted back to its roots and went back underground to its dedicated followers rather than remaining glamourised in the charts alongside other pop rubbish ! It is all the better for it too!

Rock did not die, although it has been marginalised rather more than it was in the early- to mid-90's (remember Rock Café?) Local TV and radio stations are not willing to explore this amazing branch of music and prefer to focus on the electronic and pop genres which are, very unfortunately, the craze of the moment.
Having said that... there are a lot of very talented bands in Malta. For those of you who are interested and who can make it, check out: http://www.extrememaltesemetal.com/ for the festival being held tomorrow.
