Paying for CVA and parking
I have just driven off from Freedom Square, in Valletta, where I was parked for about five hours. When I entered my car, I was accosted by a "parker" who demanded money! So now we have to pay the CVA and a parker?
Of course, I did not pay but it was rather embarrassing!
Can these things be checked, please?

I thank Mr L Galea (us Galeas seem crop up everywhere!) for his very elucidating comments. I will of course be asking CVA for some 'elucidating' explanations themselves!
And I agree with Mr Caruana too!

Mr Galea
you do not have to pay, neither the parker nor the CVA system operators.
Reserved parking for residents has been declared discriminatory and therefore the fact that Valletta residents have reserved parking when compared to the rest of the citizens means that the rest of the citizens are being discriminated against.
Furthermore, to add insult to injury, non-Valletta residents have to pay to park in Valletta.
This is also discriminatory.
The discriminatory nature has been accepted by the Court of Justice, by the Board for Petitions and by the ADT.
So much so that when some Attard residents requested that parking in their street be reserved for residents only, and this for only 2 hours between 1200 and 1400, that ADT replied that
“Residents Only Parking and Access for Residents Only are not approved by the Traffic Management Unit since these are discriminatory.”
Then why are such systems being kept illegally in operation by arrogant local councils including the CVA in Valletta?

Parkers are a real menace, I really do not know why they are allowed to hassle people. Parkers should be banned!
This island is full of parkers! Gnejna Bay, Paradise Bay, Main Guard Valletta, near Education, near Library, near phonecia dry cleaners, Golden Bay, Riveria Martinque, in front of Magic Kiosk, the car park near Agius & Agius just to mention a few. The cheek of these "parkers" is incredible. I had the one at Riveria Martinque, demand more money than I gave him! (which I did not give more). The parker in front of M.Kiosk in sliema allows double parking. The funny thing is that they are not responsible for anything ! They are rude, some of them seem ready for a fight if you do not pay up or complain about something. These parkers have been a menace for a long time, I really cant understand how the authorities do not ban such suckers.
