Obituary
ARPA. On July 17, at St Vincent de Paul residence, HILDA, formerly of Msida, widow of Joseph. She leaves to mourn her loss her niece Jennifer and her husband Pierre, and Natasha of Sydney, Australia, among many relatives and friends. The funeral service takes place today. Mass praesente cadavere will be said at Msida parish church at 2.30 p.m., followed by interment in the family vault at the Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery. Lord, grant her eternal rest.
BALDACCHINO. On July 19, at Mater Dei Hospital, JOHN of Fleur de Lys, a beloved husband and father, aged 64, passed away peacefully comforted by the rites of Holy Church. He leaves to mourn his loss his wife Antida, his children Sandra and her husband Simon Grech, Manolito and his wife Isabelle, and Annalise, his grandchildren Cayden and Andrea, his brothers and sister, his cousins, nephews and nieces, in-laws, other relatives and friends. The funeral leaves Mater Dei Hospital today at 9.30 a.m. for the Sanctuary of Our lady of Mount Carmel Valletta where Mass praesente cadavere will be said at 10 a.m. followed by interment at the Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery. No flowers by request but donations to Puttinu Cares Foundation at Mater Dei Hospital will be greatly appreciated. Lord, grant him eternal rest.
BEZZINA. On July 20, at Mater Dei Hospital, MICHAEL, of Msida, residing at Mosta, aged 54, passed away peacefully comforted by the rites of Holy Church. He leaves to mourn his irreplaceable loss his wife Antoinette, his children, Antoine and his fiancée Ann Marie, Claire and her fiancé Clinton, and Christian. His brother Mario, and his sisters Annie and her husband John, Carmen and her husband Silvio, his uncles, aunties, cousins, his parents-in-law Joseph and Firmina, his in-laws, nephews and nieces, other relatives and friends. The funeral leaves Mater Dei hospital tomorrow at 8 a.m. for Mosta parish church where Mass praesente cadavere will be said at 8.30 a.m. followed by interment at Mosta cemetery. Donations to the Hospice Movement will be appreciated. Lord, grant him eternal rest. Special thanks goes to all relatives, friends, and the Malta Hospice Moverment who helped the family during his illness.

She leaves to mourn her loss her children Syntio and his wife Paula, Charles and his wife Marie-Claire, Michelle and her husband Adrian, Joseph and his wife Annalese, her grandchildren Louisa and Mark, her brothers and sisters-in-law, their families, other relatives and friends. The funeral leaves Mater Dei Hospital today at 8 a.m. for Mosta parish church where Mass praesente cadavere will be said at 8.30 a.m., followed by interment at Mqabba cemetery. Lord, grant her eternal peace.
CARUANA. On July 20, at Mater Dei Hospital, ALFRED of Caruana Menswear of Sliema, aged 61, passed away peacefully, comforted by the rites of Holy Church. He leaves to mourn his loss his wife Maris, his children Caroline and her husband Vince, Raffaella and her husband Giuseppe, and Jean-Carl, his grandson Dean, his brothers and sisters, among them three Augustinian nuns, in-laws, nephews and nieces, other relatives and friends. The funeral leaves Mater Dei Hospital tomorrow at 8 a.m. for Mount Carmel parish church, Gżira, where Mass praesente cadavere will be said at 8.30 a.m., followed by interment at the Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery. Evening course in economics
The Economics Department of the University of Malta is offering a two-year evening course leading to the MA (Economics) degree.
To be admitted to the course, candidates must possess a first- or second-class honours degree in Economics or a related subject.
A preparatory course is also being offered for those not suitably qualified to join the MA course in terms of the regulations.
It is planned that the course be offered also at the University Gozo Centre, with lecture sessions being held on Friday evenings and Saturday mornings, commencing in October.
To be admitted to the preparatory course, candidates must possess a general degree in Economics or a related area of study at Category II or better.
The course will be offered subject to there being a sufficient number of qualified applicants.
Duly filled-in application forms will be received at the University Gozo Centre, Mġarr Road, Xewkija today for surnames starting with A to C, tomorrow for those starting with D to M and on Wednesday for those with surnames whose first letter is N through to Z.

Italian singer at Bay Street
Italian singer Margary Signorino and her students from the Scuola di Canto will performing at the Bay Street Complex on Wednesday.
Ms Signorino is a singer by profession who has worked with and accompanied some of the most popular Italian singers including Luca Barbarossa, Enrico Ruggeri, Franco Califano, Toni Esposito, Marco Masini, Laura Pausini and many more.
Her career in show business has also led her to participate in a number of primetime shows on the major Italian TV stations. These include the popular Raffaella Carra's Carramba Che Sorpresa and Cultura Moderna with comedian Teo Mammuccari.
She also won the Disco D'Oro for her participation in the programme Sei un Mito, in which she emulated the eccentric Italian singer Loredana Berte. Nine years ago, Ms Signorino set up the Scuola di Canto in Rome.
This is her fourth visit to Malta.
The concert starts at 8.30 p.m.
Explosives training
The Armed Forces of Malta will be holding explosives training in Pembroke, between today and Friday from 7 a.m. to 1.30 p.m. All vessels are to keep two miles off the coast during the above dates and times. Red flags will be flown from the limits of the ranges.
Ira Losco tickets
Ira Losco will be supporting Duran Duran at the Luxol Grounds on Saturday, during which she will be performing her best hits to date. A limited number of tickets will be available to her fans at €30 or €60. These can be bought by sending an e-mail to ira@iralosco.com or iraloscotickets@gmail.com.
