Why were so few protesters arrested? (2)
It is a funny, yet desperate, situation that puts a country in such a state of anarchy. The public transport operators go on strike and the entire island faces havoc.
People resort to violence to make their voice heard. It boils down to a lack of basic education. What impression are we giving to tourists? Why is it that these people always expect the government to solve their problems? Liberalisation is the way forward. All markets in various sectors have accepted this situation. Why should the transport industry be any different?

Mrs. Cutajar, you asked why should public transport be any different from any other sector. The answer is simple indeed! Simply because it is different, because prices are regulated by the Govt. Because it is rightly still considered as a social service. Because past administrators created the enviroment we operate in today.
Let's be honest, once again I declare I do not agree with such actions, especially at a point in time when as operators, we would have made better to concentrate on atracting sympathy and telling the public that we can't continue to guarantee the service provided with the present situation with the ever increase in fuel prices than going on strike, but we can't pretend the country can do without public transport even if no such accidents occured the lack of such service would have been felt.
