Cleared of theft
A 34-year-old man was yesterday acquitted of theft and of handling stolen goods seven years ago.
Darren Debono, of St Julians, was cleared of stealing a Reefer Container Unit and its trailer from Paola on October 31, 2001. He was also cleared of handling stolen property.
Magistrate Antonio Mizzi presided over the court.
Police Inspector Michael Mallia prosecuted.
Lawyers Manwel Mallia and Arthur Azzopardi were defence counsel.
