Toyota's Timo Glock has set himself a target of winning the Formula One title in 2010, undaunted by the fact his team have been trying in vain to win a race since 2002.

"At the end, you have to set some targets," the German said at his home grand prix, adding that he did not care if people found the idea laughable.

"If I say I don't know when I want to win the championship, that is not the target, that doesn't keep you under pressure.

"For sure 2010 will be hard and will be difficult but next year the rules are changing and the cars change completely.

"It will be difficult to see where the teams will be next year but you have to set your target and that is mine."

Glock, 26, is in his first full season in grand prix racing after winning last year's GP2 championship - the feeder series for Formula One.

"If I don't reach it (the target), then I will set a new one and keep working as hard as possible," said the driver, whose sole points finish so far this season was fourth place in Canada.
