Obituary

BORG. On July 16, JOSEPHINE, née Ciancio, widow of Professor Frans Borg, aged 89, passed away peacefully at Mater Dei Hospital, comforted by the rites of Holy Church. She leaves to mourn her loss her son-in-law Albert, her granddaughter Christine and her husband John Bonello, her grandson Stephen and his wife Caroline, her great-grandchildren, her brother Albert Ciancio and his wife Marie-Louise, her sister-in-law Hermione Ciancio, relatives and friends. The funeral leaves Mater Dei Hospital today at 8.30 a.m. for the Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery chapel where Mass praesente cadavere will be said at 9 a.m., followed by interment. May the Lord grant her eternal rest.

CAMILLERI. On July 16, GREZZJU, known as Tas-Saqqafi, of Mġarr, aged 81, passed away peacefully at home comforted by the rites of Holy Church. He leaves to mourn her loss his wife Salvina, his children Mary and her husband Joe Vella residing in Australia, Therese and her husband Joe Camilleri, Joe and his wife Carmen, Jimmy and his wife Doris, Paul and his wife Sue, Rita and her husband Joe Vella, Anna and her husband Mario Mifsud, David and his wife Susan, 22 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren, his brothers, his wife's family, many other relatives and friends. The funeral leaves his home today at 4 p.m. for Mġarr parish church where Mass praesente cadavere will be said at 4.30 p.m. followed by interment at the Mġarr cemetery. CATANIA. On July 12, RAYMOND of Msida, aged 49, passed away peacefully comforted by the rites of Holy Church. He leaves to mourn his loss his daughter Maria, his dear mother Carmela, his sisters Maria and her husband Michael, and Stephania, his nieces Nadienne and Katya, his nephews Karl and Alistair, in-laws, other relatives, friends and colleagues at V.J. DARMANIN. On July 13, at Mater Dei Hospital, GRACE, teacher at Tarxien Girls' Secondary School, aged 56, passed away peacefully comforted by the rites of Holy Church. She leaves to mourn her loss her brothers Lino and his wife Mary and Anthony and his wife Miriam, her sisters Annie and her husband Godfrey DeMarco, Doris and her husband Joe Mallia, Connie and her husband Joe Grech, her beloved nephews and nieces, Adrian, Lorraine, Rita, Nadya, Audrey, Ingrid, Karl and Erika and their families, other relatives and friends. The funeral leaves Mater Dei Hospital tomorrow at 8 a.m. for the Immaculate Conception parish church, Cospicua where Mass praesente cadavere will be said at 8.30 a.m., followed by interment at the Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery. DEBONO. On July 14, at Gozo General Hospital, Victoria, Dr JOSEPH DEBONO, widower of Maria, née Mifsud, aged 84, passed away peacefully comforted by the rites of Holy Church. He leaves to mourn his irreparable loss his children Dr Mary DeBono Borg, wife of Tony Borg, Sonia, wife of Victor Mifsud, his grandchildren Alexander, David, James and Brian, his sister Carmen Vella, his nephews and niece, Eddie Vella, architect Guido Vella and Mary Debono, his in-laws Sam, Charlie, Joseph, Vincenza, other relatives and numerous friends. Closed to traffic

San Ġorġ, Indipendenza, Savina, Santu Wistin and San Franġisk squares and San Ġużepp, Santa Marija, Il-Librerija, Il-Vajringa, Palma and Ir-Repubblika streets in Victoria will be closed to traffic this evening from 7.

MSE chairman re-appointed

Joseph Zammit Tabona has been re-appointed chairman of the Malta Stock Exchanges.

Arthur Galea Salomone has also been re-appointed deputy chairman. The directors are Antoine Fiott, Karen Spiteri Bailey and Charlotte Attard.

Grain terminal chairman remains

Charles Demicoli has been confirmed as chairman of Kordin Grain Terminal.

Mr Demicoli has been the chairman of the terminal since 1990 and was responsible for its structural and financial reform. He is also the chairman of Federated Mills and a number of other companies.

Paul Abela was appointed deputy chairman and John Rizzo Naudi, Marion Pace Axiak, Pierre Aquilina and Silvia Gauci directors.
