P31 to be scuttled

Plans are in hand to scuttle patrol boat P31 with a view to creating a new artificial reef. Improvements are also being made to improve access to existing dive sites, including those at Ċirkewwa. On-site security is being enhanced through the installation of cameras. New investment has been made in access to Qawra Point with the help of EU funds.

Answering a parliamentary question by Ċensu Galea, a call for tenders will soon be issued with a view to commissioning a Diving Master Plan for Malta on the same lines as the one commissioned for Gozo. The master plan will seek to identify works needing to be done on existing diving sites and identifying new sites.
