Mepa official sees no irregularities in Mistra case

The head of the Malta Environment and Planning Authority (Mepa) Development Control Unit yesterday testified that he saw no irregularities in the file related to the Mistra case.

Victor Sladden said that according to Mepa procedure, there was no irregularity in the decision to approve the outline development permit and although the case officer had recommended a refusel, the Development Control Commission (DCC) had approved it.

Mr Sladden testified in the compilation of evidence in the case of Philip Azzopardi and Anthony Mifsud, who are alleged to have had private interests in the adjudication process. They were respectively the chairman and member on the board which approved the project last November.
