Auto dealer accused of trying to run over a group of people
A 24-year-old auto dealer was yesterday granted bail against a personal guarantee of €2,340 after he pleaded not guilty to trying to run over a group of people at midnight on Wednesday in Qormi.
Magistrate Joseph Apap Bologna heard how Conrad Galea allegedly tried to run over the group in St Sebastian Street.
Mr Galea was also charged with slightly injuring a person, driving dangerously, ignoring driving signs and breaching public peace.
Magistrate Apap Bologna granted Mr Galea bail after taking into consideration the fact that most of the charges against him were contraventions and not criminal in nature.
Police Inspector Anthony Cachia prosecuted.
Lawyer Franco Debono and Marion Camilleri were defence counsel.

Trying to run over people is not a crime? Something does not add up.
