Village feast in a truly Christian spirit!

The president of the Msida band club should resign forthwith following his repeated gaffes.

I agree with the College of Parish Priests that this man's attitude is not worthy of a modern society, a Christian and one holding a position of responsibility.

We can do without such selfish and arrogant people who have no sentiments of pity, human understanding and true Christian mentality. The irony of it all is when he states that he is working for the Msida residents to enjoy their festa in a Christian spirit!

For years we have pitied the inmates at St Luke's Hospital who had to endure incessant noise from the Msida fireworks. Is it possible that none of the members responsible for the external Msida feast never had their mother or father suffering or undergoing an operation or even on the verge of death? Not to mention babies and even animals. The new hospital superintendent is quite right in denouncing the closure of the main artery leading to the Mater Dei Hospital.

Archbishop Paul Cremona would do well to enforce a more Christian celebration of the locality patron saint. The time has come for fireworks to be seriously and drastically controlled and limited as to timing, noise and place.
