Uneven pavements

I have now been coming to Malta for about 27 years. My flat is off Tourist Street near the church in Qawra. Along the years I have seen all the new buildings going up, roads being relayed and the pavements laid out in block paving. I now wonder why the block paving is so uneven, what with all the workmen carrying out their different trades in the buildings. Do not local council members go around to find out who causes the damage to the block paving and prosecute accordingly?

Like many others, I have to revert to walking on the road and take a chance with the road racers.

It's either that or tripping up on the pavement. Another thing about the pavements. Cannot the council provide a small plastic container where residents can put their rubbish.

If a local councillor were to walk some of the roads and see the problems I mention here, he will then see what the dogs and the cats do with the bags when trying to get to the left-over bones and food.

Lastly, would the residents themselves not like to see the outside of their flats and houses looking nice and clean?
