Impressive eating place
As a lover of Malta and especially of Gozo, I'm travelling there from France more or less every two months.
I just wanted to say that I was very impressed by a new bar/restaurant located on Independence Square, in Victoria, which is brand new.
It is called Palazzo Antonin and I guess it must be popular because the place is amazing and the food is very good. Congratulations to the manager and his team and hope they will have the success they deserve.

No, Amanda, the writer is definitely French - his use of the present continuous "I'm travelling there from France more or less every two months." instead of the present simple is a distinct characteristic mistake made by the French when they speak English. And anyway I am wary of any Gozitan bar/restaurant. Recently one of the top restaurants there added an extra charge on my credit card chit after I had signed it. My bank suggested that I report them from fraud. But I am not easily angered...these things just amuse me.

"A new bar and restaurant which is brand new"? That sounds pretty much like Gozitan/Maltese English to me ...

Perhaps the owners of Palazzo Antonin, in Victoria, Gozo, will now invite the readers of THE TIMES, to really check whether this restaurant is truly an outstanding eatery, and check out the Parisian Luc Truy....
