A woman was killed in a traffic accident in Tower Road, Sliema, yesterday evening (Wednesday), the police said.

The police said the incident happened at about 9.15 p.m.

The police said a 19-year-old stopped his LandRover when he felt a bang against his vehicle and a woman was found on the road.

The woman died at Mater Dei Hospital despite intensive medical attention.

Magistrate Silvio Meli is holding an inquiry.
