Sciberras Trigona to contest international secretary post

Former Labour Foreign Affairs Minister Alex Sciberras Trigona yesterday submitted his nomination for the post of international secretary. The other contender is the incumbent Joe Mifsud.

The nomination for the election of the new administrative team and national executive of the Labour Party could be filed between Monday and yesterday. The elections will be held on August 4-5.

These are the other nominations submitted yesterday.

President: Wenzu Mintoff, Stefan Zrinzo Azzopardi; Vice-President: Alexander Sciberras; Secretary General: Joe Chetcuti; Finance Secretary: Jeffrey Camilleri, Joseph Cordina; Public Relations Secretary: Ray Azzopardi. No nomination for Education Secretary was filed yesterday.

The following have put their name for the 10 seats as ordinary members of the national executive. Christian Abela, Ray Azzopardi, Saviour Bonnici, Josephine Cassar, Joe Chircop, Chris Cilia, Frans Debono, Roberto Debrincat, Ancel Farrugia Migneco, Leonard Falzon, Charlon Gouder, Manuel Rocco, Alexander Sciberras and Jennifer Tabone.
