I would like to praise our own Maltese tenor Joseph Calleja who gave a spectacular performance last Saturday during the Luciano Pavarotti Tribute Concert, together with the magnificent soprano Nataliya Kovalova and baritone George Petean. He is a truly gifted and charismatic person.

However, I must express my disappointment at NnG Promotions who were the organisers of this event. Our two seats (Bronze section) were, to say the least, a complete let down. Not only were they extremely uncomfortable but during the concert all we could see was the backside of some members of the Malta Philharmonic Orchestra.

In fact, we did not catch a glimpse of Mr Calleja, whom we were so eager to watch perform live. Our only option was to watch the whole concert on a plasma screen.

Needless to say, there was collective discontent among the rest of the audience seated in our area and during the interval several other people were complaining.

Since, unlike other people who had complimentary tickets (and better seats), we forked out a hefty €80 each, I would have expected better seating. Seating arrangements require common sense. The seating could have been elevated thus allowing all the audience to enjoy what was paid for.

I do hope that in future events, the organisers prove to be more considerate towards the audience because they certainly spoiled our much-awaited evening.
