Transport strike: Police make eight new arrests

The police made eight new arrests overnight in their investigation of incidents related to the strike by public transport workers. Arraignments in court may take place later today.

The eight under arrest are being investigated in connection with incidents in Valletta on Monday and disturbances at the airport yesterday.

Four minibus drivers were arraigned yesterday afternoon and remanded in custody at Corradino prisons.

About time too ! ! ! What bunch of thugs!! These disgusting spectacles are not acceptable in a supposedly civilised society nothwithstanding any 'right to strike' ! It's about time the troublemakers are all arrested and arraigned in court. Needless to say, it is obvious that any of them convicted of criminal acts should be stripped of their license...permanently. It is high time these people realise that the maltese public has thoroughly had enough of them, their disgusting behaviour and the lousy service they provide!

Serves them right, these people still do not understand we are living in a free and democratic country, Dr Gatt you have our full support, let them strike till they give in or move out, bring in other operators to give this country a decent transport service.
Think about a crematorium near the Addolorata cemetry, this would also do away with the hearses problems!!

Let's hope that we law abiding citizens are protected from these blood suckers.the police and ATD enforcement officers know that these people break the law every 5 seconds, a word to ATD if you stand up to these people they bow thier heads, I am talking through experience here and know well what I am saying.Strict Zero tollerance is the way forward no more and no less.If one gives them an inch they take a foot. so clamp down hard. The enforcement section is asleep wake it up and push them to take action, no silk gloves .

My grandpa is frozen in the morgue! My family can't bury him thanks to this insanity! Can you selfish people stop for a moment and realise the pain you're causing? Are you humans or what?
