Nicholas Xuereb has been appointed chairman of the Lotteries and Gaming Authority.

Mr Xuereb, 38, is a member of the Malta Institute of Accounts. He worked with PriceWaterhouse-Coopers for 10 years and has been finance director of Trelleborg for the past nine.

Pauline Debono, Roberta Fenech Gauci, Michael Gonzi, Jesmond Pace and Stanley Portelli were appointed directors of the authority.
