New chairman of the Gaming Authority

Nicholas Xuereb has been appointed chairman of the Lotteries and Gaming Authority. He succeeds Joseph Zammit Maempel.

Mr Xuereb, 38, has been finance director of Trelleborg for the past nine years and formerly worked with PriceWaterhouseCoopers.

Pauline Debono, Roberta Fenech Gauci, Michael Gonzi, Jesmond Pace and Stanley Portelli were appointed directors of the authority.

The appointments were made by Finance Minister Tonio Fenech.
