Government policy on overseas development aid
The government has drawn up a policy of humanitarian and development aid to help the poorest countries, particularly those of sub-Saharan and East Africa, the Mediterranean, the Middle East particularly the Palestinian territory and small islands, with the aim of pushing for social and economic progress in these countries or territories.
The government's policy of humanitarian and development aid is based on the idea of combating poverty through development, and seeking to contribute towards current initiatives on an international level, particularly through the European Union.
Answering a parliamentary question by Owen Bonnici (MLP), Foreign Affairs Minister Tonio Borg said this policy also addressed specific actions and projects where Malta put a number of its own particular specialisations at the disposal of these initiatives.

The policy should be that NO aid will be given until the countries concerned accept back their ILLEGAL immigrants that we have in Malta.
Any expenses that were incurred by the Maltese Government from the PEOPLE'S TAXES to keep ILLEGAL immigrants should be deducted from any aid given to these countries.
This would put pressure on these countries tostem theri IILLEGAL immigrants from coming to Malta.
