No directions from the police depot

My friend was kind enough to give me a ticket for Anton Chekov's Vaudeville at Ospizio Gardens in Floriana. As this was on the programme of the Malta Arts Festival I was looking forward to the event.

Both my husband and I did not know where these gardens were so I phoned the tourist information office in Valletta to ask for directions.

I was not surprised when there was no answer at the other end as it was already 5 p.m. I decided to telephone the police headquarters in Floriana and after a while I was put through to the right department.

A policewoman informed me that she had never heard of Ospizio Gardens and suggested I try Floriana police station. When I asked her for the telephone number of the station she answered that the station was closed.

I wonder what would have happened if an emergency took place at Ospizio Gardens and the police at the depot took the call? In desperation I telephoned for a taxi but once again the address of Ospizio Gardens was unknown.
