Eastwood moves to Coventry

Freddy Eastwood has completed his transfer from Wolves to Coventry in a deal believed to be worth about £1.2m. The Wales striker, 24, has agreed a four-year contract at the Ricoh Arena.

"The move has been talked about for quite a while so I am just delighted it's finally going through," Eastwood said.

"My aim is to end the season as the club's top goalscorer. I've scored goals elsewhere and that is exactly what I want to do here at Coventry."

Eastwood will join the Coventry squad on their tour of Switzerland, starting today.

Poulsen happy to join Juventus

Danish midfielder Christian Poulsen said he was looking forward to playing for Juventus amid media reports he will complete a move from Sevilla to the Serie A today.

"I'm very happy to be able to play at Juve. They're a great club and one of the best-followed foreign teams in Denmark," the 28-year old was quoted as saying.

"I'll have the chance to take part in the Champions League."

Forged passports in Argentina

Investigators in Argentina are working on a case involving a multi-million euro forged Italian passport scheme. For many years now the key to obtaining a move to European clubs has been gaining an EU passport and many players have tracked down Italian ancestors to achieve this goal.

There was already a similar scandal almost a decade ago when Juan Sebastian Veron was found to have obtained an Italian passport illegally.

This new network came to light after the Italian consul in Buenos Aires did not recognise the signatures on Italian passports that had been issued in the same building.

Investigators discovered that some players could get an illegal passport in a few days for £15,000, while an official one could take months or even years.

Flamengo say they got Ronaldo

Brazilian club Flamengo yesterday announced they had reached an agreement with Ronaldo, the out-of-contract Milan striker.

"We have a deal with the player's agent," club boss Marcio Braga told reporters.

"As soon as he has recovered from the injury, we will sit around a table and complete the paperwork."

Ronaldo has been out of action since suffering a devastating knee tendon injury in February and in that time his contract with Milan expired.

As he is still battling for fitness and was also involved in a blackmail scandal with trans-sexual prostitutes while in Brazil for rehabilitation, Milan opted to wait for the situation to develop before committing to another season.

Ronaldo turns 32 in September. If he does sign for Flamengo, it will be his first non-European club since Cruzeiro in 1993-94.

Robinho not leaving Real Madrid

Real Madrid's Brazil forward Robinho has said he does not want to leave the Spanish champions, despite interest from Chelsea and media reports he might be sold to help bring Manchester United's Cristiano Ronaldo to the Bernabeu.

"At the moment I am only thinking about Real Madrid," Robinho was quoted as telling sports daily AS as he arrived back in Madrid.

"I am not prepared to enter into the operation to sign Ronaldo. I hope to stay this next year with Real."

Hull want Tottenham's Rocha

Hull City want to sign Tottenham's Portuguese international defender Ricardo Rocha.

The 29-year-old was at Hull's training ground during the weekend but club chairman Paul Duffen told reporters their interest is still at an early stage.

Rocha has made 14 Premier League appearances for Spurs since signing from Benfica in January 2007 for over £3m.

Meanwhile, Hull will give a debut to Brazilian midfielder Geovanni in a pre-season friendly tonight at North Ferriby United.

Costacurta turns down Pisa

Alessandro Costacurta will not be coaching Pisa in the Serie B next season. The former Milan and Italy defender was assistant manager to Carlo Ancelotti last year and obtained his full licence in June at Coverciano.

"I am sorry, because Pisa would be the ideal city and club to begin my adventure as a coach," Costacurta told reporters.

"However, my wife and my son come first right now, above anything else. I will not coach any side next year. I will instead study so that I can improve further."

Costacurta had already warned that he would need a job close to his home in Milan if he were to take up football management this term, as his wife Martina Colombari is in a touring theatrical production for six months starting in autumn.

"I don't want our son Achille to grow up with a nanny. I want to be there for him," he said of the four-year-old.
