The Fiat Bravo 1.6 Multijet and the 500 are the first Euro 5-compliant cars to arrive in Malta, importer UCIM Co. has said.

The Euro 5 is the next generation of caps on pollutant emissions from diesel and petrol cars, limiting in particular nitrogen oxides (NOx) and particulate matter (PM) which pose the most serious health and environmental problems.

To reduce the impact on air quality and health, the EU has adopted legislation to impose stricter emission caps on both diesel and petrol cars, limiting in particular nitrogen oxides and particulate matter which pose the most serious health problems.

Managing director Francesca Mamo said UCIM Co was honoured to be the first company in Malta to bring cars which conform to standards which come into force next year.
