Art exhibition

The European Union Programme Agency (Eupa), in collaboration with the Malta Society of Arts, Manufactures and Commerce, is holding the first edition of the bi-annual Arts Competition and Exhibition, to commemorate the European Year of Intercultural Dialogue 2008.

The theme of this competition is Education and Culture - A Catalyst For Intercultural Dialogue.

There are over 60 pieces of work on display at Maurice De Marco Hall, 36, Old Mint Street, Valletta. Works range from ceramics to painting. The exhibition demonstrates the artists' different perspectives on this particular theme.

The exhibition is being held from today to July 23. The opening hours are from 8.30 a.m. to 12.30 p.m.

Wellness guide

Nestlé Malta has published an informative Wellness Guide, a publication in English and Maltese that promotes the importance of leading a healthy and active lifestyle.

The Nestlé Fitness Wellness Guide, with fitness tips and a helpful step by step guide on how to conduct daily exercise, was an initiative of Nestlé Malta in line with its commitment to promote the importance of leading a healthy lifestyle.

The wellness guide was then published through a direct collaboration with the Malta Exercise, Health and Fitness Association of whom Nestlé Malta is the Activity Sponsor.

Lost camera

A reward will be given to anyone who returns a small digital camera, a Panasonic Lumix DMC - LS3, five megapixels, which its owner lost on July 7, probably in Gozo. The camera contains sentimental wedding photographs.

Alzheimer lecture

The Malta Dementia Society will host a lecture by Marco Bloom, a representative of Alzheimer Netherlands, on dementia care and services, on Monday at 5, Lion Street, Floriana from 6 to 7 p.m.

Tourism projects

The Office of the Prime Minister will shortly be launching a new call for tourism project proposals under the European Regional Development Fund 2007-2013.

The call will be issued by the Planning and Priorities Coordination Division. Non-governmental, voluntary and partner organisations are eligible to apply with projects that aim to promote sustainable tourism and fall within the Priority Axis 2 focus areas of product development, niche market development and branding.

Try dive

The Calypso Sub-Aqua Club will be holding a Try Dive in aid of Ir-Razzett Tal-Ħbiberija tomorrow at the Exiles Beach in Sliema between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m.

For a donation of €10, participants will be taken on a 20-minute exploration dive accompanied by a qualified instructor and an experienced diver.

Participants under the age of 18 will require written parental or guardian consent.

Restricted access

Access to Triq l-Irziezet ta' L-Imtaħleb, Fiddien, will be restricted due to upgrading works on the water distribution system, the Water Services Corporation said.

The works comprise the renewal of 680 metres of the 250mm water main. Works start on Monday and should last five weeks.
