Man critical after fall
A man was critically injured when he fell a height of seven courses, the police said.
The man, a 37-year-old from Siggiewi, was working in Triq San Pawl in San Pawl Tat-Targa, limits of Naxxar.
The police also said this afternoon that a woman found dead in Marsa had died of a heart attack.

If, as is gathered from the short news report, the man was doing construction work on a building site, then I think it would be appropriate for the Occupational Health and Safety Authority to begin SERIOUS investigations immediately. Despite much vaunted legislation about the requirement of having safe working conditions for construction people serious accidents / fatalities continue to happen. Is the OHSA sending its people to check what is going on? Could it be that fines, etc. in the case of infringements are not serving the desired purpose - to make the people responsible take appropriate measures to ascertain the safety of their employees? The authorities in the relevant Ministry need to become more involved in this serious problem.
