The celebrations marking the 194th anniversary of the Police Corps continued yesterday with Pontifical Mass at the police headquarters in Floriana and a parade in St George's Square, Valletta.

A Police Guard of Honour and band provided quite a spectacle as they marched in a defilè with various sections of the force including the mounted police, the dog section and motorcyclists. This was complemented with a display by the Precision Drill Team and a performance by the Hampshire Police Band.

Anniversary activities included open days at various police stations, evening displays in different towns and an exhibition of hobbies at the police headquarters, which runs until today. The exhibits range from arts and crafts to restored vehicles.

The events end on Monday with an open day at the Victoria police station and a display in Marsalforn at 8 p.m.
