The MLP this morning contacted both the government and the transport operators and offered its assistance for the two sides to hold talks, Labour leader Joseph Muscat said.

He told a meeting of the National Youth Council said that in the context of a strike by the operators, the country could not have a situation where the two sides did not talk to each other.

He said the MLP did not exclude any solution to the problems of the transport sector but there was need for consultation and talks among all sides.
