The Labour Party's spokesman for the economy quoted the GRTU (July 9) as stating that " ...prices would go up by at least two per cent on products sold from freezers and fridges..." If this is correct, then currently (surcharge at 50 per cent) the input cost of electricity on such items constitutes over six per cent of what the consumer pays for them.

Hard to believe. Would be interesting were the GRTU to publish its costings.
