Companies interested in Gozo helicopter service
There were a number of companies interested in operating a helicopter service between Malta and Gozo since the service stopped in October 2006.
Answering a parliamentary question by Anton Refalo (MLP), Gozo Minister Giovanna Debono said talks had been held with each company, and the Gozo Tourism Association and the Gozo Business Chamber were kept informed of developments.

Yes! Let the helicopter service come back - as soon as possible - but only if the fares are reasonable (Less than €100 return) and that there should be no subsidy. Also that the machines carry at least ten passengers including hold baggage and can operate day and night.
If this fails then maybe we really see sense. I would be quite happy to show anyone the differnce between a secure, well tended airfield and an area littered with builder's rubbish and old trucks. Go to the Airpark near Ragusa in Sicily.

At last the sound of sense. A helicopter service between Malta and Gozo is the only way to go and satisfies everyone. If this can be operated at a sensible rate which ordinary people can afford to pay it will do well out of the tourist trade as well as catering for the businessmen commuting between the islands.
More important is the fact that the infrastructure is already in place so the operation can be up and running without further damaging the structure of the island. I always used the helicopter transfer to Gozo in the past and look forward to doing so in the future. On a point of principle I would never use a fixed wing service due to the ugly scar it would create on Gozo.
