Maltese travellers up 11.4% in May
The number of Maltese travelling abroad rose by 11.4 percent to 23,615 in May when compared to the same month last year, the NSO said today.
In the first five months of the year, 101,985 Maltese went abroad, an increase of 17.6 percent over last year. As usual, destinations in Italy and the UK were the most popular. Just over 60 percent of Maltese travellers were men.

Indeed! Our young graduates (in their hundreds) who are fleeing the country to find better-paid jobs abroad.
