A 32-year-old Libyan national was yesterday granted bail after he pleaded not guilty to stealing a number of items and cash from Villa Rosa in St Julians. Fateh Aisa Ahmed Bakkush from Tripoli denied stealing two mobile phones, an iPod Touch and €470 in cash from guests staying at the resort on Saturday evening.

Magistrate Consuelo Scerri Herrera granted Mr Bakkush bail against a personal guarantee of €5,000 after taking into consideration the amount of cash stolen.

Lawyer Roberto Montalto appeared for Mr Bakkush.
