2000 visitors at embassy open day
The Maltese embassy to Berlin open its doors to the public on Saturday during the All Nations Festival, held in the city.
More than 2,000 visitors called between 11 a.m. and 6 p.m. and were able to learn more about Malta as well as taste Hobz biz-zejt. Many asked for a recipe, the embassy said.
Embassy staff handed out brochures on Malta’s sights, history, culture, economy and English language schools.
Children could try their hand at a Wheel of Fortune to win a Playmobil Maltese knight or a Playmobil key ring pendant, provided by Playmobil Malta for the event.
Other activities enabled winners to win a set of Maltese euro coins, Kinnie, Maltese wine and models of the Maltese temples.
The event was supported by the MTA office in Frankfurt.

That's great. But will therebe a Maltese speaking person to help Maltese in need.Today? I called my Malta mission in New York at 11:15 am. No Maltese speakers. I called again at 3:15 pm again no Maltese speakers. We are leaving our Malta missions with sensitive information in the hands of non-Maltese. What if someone from Malta visiting New York gets in trouble and doesn't speak English? He will be left stranded.WE NEED MALTESE SPEAKING PERSONS IN OUR EMBASSY EVERY MINUTE THAT OUR EMBASSIES ARE OPEN.
