A 32-year-old Libyan national was today granted bail after he pleaded not guilty to stealing a number of items and cash from Villa Rosa in St. Julians.

Fateh Aisa Ahmed Bakkush from Tripoli denied stealing two mobile phones, an Ipod Touch, and €470 from guests staying at the hotel on Saturday evening. Magistrate Consuelo Scerri Herrera granted Mr Bakkush bail against a personal guarantee of €5,000 after taking into consideration the amount of cash stolen.

Lawyer Roberto Montalto appeared for Mr Bakkush.
