The traditional Ball of the August Moon will be held on the evening of Saturday August 2 at Verdala Palace, the Office of the President has announced.
The President has urged the public to attend this annual event, the proceeds of which will go entirely towards the Malta Community Chest Fund.
"Persons who are in need, patients who require very expensive medicines and relatives who accompany patients abroad for specialised treatment need our support," Dr Fenech Adami said.
The MCCF distributes more than €1 million in aid annually. The funds are raised through various activities which are organised by MCC throughout the year.
Those attending the Ball will be able to view the newly uncovered vault painting in the Main Hall of Verdala Palace, where a conservation project lasting two years has been completed.
Tickets for the Ball, costing €50 each, are available at the offices of the Malta Community Chest Fund, The Palace, Valletta. For more information one may call on 2124 0568 from 8.30 a.m. to 12.30 p.m. on working days or on 9949 3110.
