• Being the first Sunday of the month, the De La Salle College Former Students' Association will animate today's Mass at the college chapel at 9 a.m.

• The Mission Fund is organising a barbecue in Rabat on Saturday at 8 p.m. in aid of Proġett Tama which aims to build a school in Tanzania. • A prayer meeting for the sanctification of priests and for priestly and religious vocations will be held at Ħal Għaxaq parish church on Saturday, starting at 9.45 p.m. with Mass, followed by adoration until midnight.

• The Malta Hospice Movement is organising a barbecue at La Bajja Rooftop restaurant, Le Meridien Hotel and Spa, St Julian's, on July 17 at 8 p.m. Tickets are against a donation of €30 and include food, a half-bottle of wine, a half-bottle of water, coffee and free parking. • An exhibition open until July 20, organised by the Polish Embassy and St James Cavalier Centre for Creativity, is being held at the Atrium, St James Cavalier, Valletta, on the occasion of the European Year of Intercultural Dialogue 2008 - A Commonwealth of Diverse Cultures - Poland's Heritage. The exhibition will consist of 10 short documentaries on Poland's cultural heritage.

• The next MIR prayer meeting for families led by Fr Hayden Wiliams will take place at St Julian's parish church on July 21 from 7 to 10 p.m. The prayer meeting will consist of the Rosary, Mass and adoration. Priests will be available for confession. Those attending are asked to bring food for Fondazzjoni Suret il-Bniedem, the Franciscan Capuchin foundation caring for the homeless.
