Two men critical after head-on crash

Two men are in critical condition after a head-on crash between two cars in Triq Durumblat, Mosta, this morning.

The police said the accident took place at about 2.30 a.m. and involved a Skoda and a Mercedes.

The injured are the 48-year-old driver of the Skoda and a 41-year-old passenger in the Mercedes. They are from Mosta and Marsa respectively.

Rescuers of the Civil Protection Department were called to help extricate the Skoda driver out of the wreckage.

The police said the injuries were life threatening.

Magistrate Giovanni Grixti is heading an inquiry.
