Australia forward Harry Kewell has signed a three-year contract with Galatasaray, the Turkish champions' website reported yesterday.

Kewell, 29, joined on a free transfer after he was released by Liverpool following an injury-plagued stay with the Premier League club.

However, there remains some confusion over the conclusion of the deal as Kewell's agent Bernie Mandic has said the announcement is premature. Mandic said that nothing has been completed.

"We have not finalised a deal for Harry and it's down to two possibilities," he told reporters in Australia.

"People will be notified if and when Harry decides on one of the options which may be around noon on Saturday (today). We will not make any other comments."

Kewell had five injury-troubled seasons at Liverpool after moving from Leeds.

Roma and Portsmouth had also been linked with Kewell who, during his time with Leeds, was sent off against Galatasaray in the 2000 UEFA Cup semi-final.
