Lawyers speak out against police violence
The Chamber of Advocates has called on the authorities to take "strenuous positive action" to ensure that no member of the police corps resorted to violence and other unacceptable behaviour "in any circumstances whatsoever". The chamber was responding to the recent allegations of police violence.
"Public perception of the corps as a protector of our rights must not continue to be eroded and it is only by positive action that this trend will be reserved," chamber president Andrew Borg-Cardona said.

It seems that this trend of always safeguard and protect the wrong doings in the first place, while put the blame on the victim , is spreading from the program xarabank to other entities!!

Now the Chamber of Advocates can call on the authorities once again and argue for a MANDATORY PRISON TERM for anyone who attacks a police officer during the commission of his or her duties. A suspended sentence for such a serious offence is not a punishment - it's a joke!
