Delayed appointments at Mater Dei Hospital
Millions of liri were spent on a state-of-the-art hospital. Millions were spent on medical equipment.
Millions of euros are being spent on the running and upkeep of a great hospital.
The question is: Why does it take 10 whole months to get a CT Scan appointment? Dear minister, please enlighten me.

@ C. Scerri.... did anyone think of maybe getting another machine?
@ marika mifsud.....Why a battery of tests? Are they unsure of their diagnosis?

Another reason is that nowadays - whatever complaint you have - doctors order a battery of tests.

Dear Mr Tabone,
If there is an area within Mater Dei that is truly fully occupied, it is the CT scan and MRI scan facilities. They have at least 22 appointments every day (8-7pm) given that each scan takes around 30 mins!!!
Instead of complaining do you have any suggestions that how these large number of scans can be reduced?
These waiting lists (for non urgent cases - urgent cases are seen within hours even in the middle of the night ) are normal around the world.

Why? Easy , because there are hundreds of people before you due to take a CT scan .
