Firm claims ex-consultant abused sensitive information

A company yesterday filed a judicial protest against its former consultant, an employee and two other people claiming that they formed another company to offer the same services at a cheaper price.

Greenlines Environmental Services Limited filed the protest against John Said, Publius Said, Fair Trading Limited, Wayne Cassar and Anthony Mercieca.

The company explained that John Said had been employed as a consultant in order to negotiate and sign contracts with clients while Publius Said was employed as a yard manager.

Over the years, John Said acquired sensitive information about the company and its operations. He set up another company - Fair Trading Limited - to offer the same service at cheaper prices, using the services of two of its contractors - Mr Cassar and Mr Mercieca.

The company claimed that John Said divulged its prices to Mr Cassar and Mr Mercieca and, as a result, they tendered with cheaper prices and were awarded WasteServ contracts.

It, therefore, called on the court to order them to pay the damages it suffered.
