Enemalta investigating cable faults
Enemalta Corporation is investigating high voltage cable faults in Mikiel Anton Vassalli Street close to the National Pool at Tal-Qroqq.
A fault occurred last Friday afternoon and as a result a power failure was registered in parts of Sliema, Msida and Ta' Xbiex. Enemalta took immediate action and restored the supply two hours later.
But another fault occurred on Tuesday evening on the same high voltage cable some 60 metres from the original fault in the same street. This time a power failure was registered in Msida Circus and parts of Ta' Xbiex. Electricity was restored just over an hour later.
As part of investigations by the corporation, one lane of Mikiel Anton Vassalli Street has been closed down in the direction towards St Julians. Drivers are advised to use caution in this area and are requested to cooperate with police/traffic wardens present in the area. The corporation may be reached on freephone 8007 2224.

Thursday electricity went out around 1230hrs and was restored around 1600hrs
Friday electricity went out around same time and was restored around 1430hrs
Tuesday electricity went out around 1800hrs and was restored around 1930hrs (probably this could have been done on purpose for maintenance considering offices close at 1730hrs hours)
Now keeping in mind the large amount of offices in that area, including large IT based companies without mentioning any names, can someone understand the amount of money lost in 7hrs of downtime? Obviously no one is liable!
