Obituary

CAMILLERI. On July 1, at Mater Dei Hospital, IMELDA of Żurrieq, aged 75, passed away peacefully comforted by the rites of Holy Church. She leaves to mourn her loss her husband Saviour, her children Rita, Catherine and her husband Robert Delezio and Joseph and his wife Rose, her grandchildren Etienne, Imelda, Justin, Duncan, Steve, Shaun and Andre, her brothers and sisters George, Romeo, Karmena, Catherine and Joe, in-laws, other relatives and friends. The funeral leaves Mater Dei Hospital on July 7 at 3 p.m. for St Catherine's parish church, Żurrieq, where Mass praesente cadavere will be said at 3.30 p.m., followed by interment at the St Leone Cemetery, Żurrieq. No flowers by request but donations to Dar tal-Providenza, Siġġiewi, will be greatly appreciated. Lord, grant her eternal rest.

Pan the goat-god

The innovative Maltese Contemporary Music section of the Malta Arts Festival consists of three dates of contemporary music, starting at 9 p.m. today with Pan the Goat-God, an interdisciplinary piece by Ruben Zahra in collaboration with visual artist Austin Camilleri.

Music and direction are by Mr Zahra, while Mr Camilleri is taking care of the installation. The performance also includes the participation of actor Adrian Azzopardi, dancer Arlette Mangion and narrator Manuel Cauchi, as well as the Crossbreed Ensemble.

It will be held at La Vittoria Bastion, Ospizio in Floriana, being used for the first time.

New standard talk

The Malta Group of Professional Engineering Institutions will be presenting a talk by Graeme Fisher entitled Introducing The New Harmonisation Of Standards Of BS EN 62305:2006 today at the Corinthia San Ġorġ Hotel, St Julians at 6.15 p.m.

The presentation will tackle the salient points of the sheer volume of information contained in the new Standard, which will be replacing the BS 6651 at the end of August.

Tea, coffee, sandwiches and cake will be served at 5.45 p.m.

Abstract pendants

The Malta Society of Arts, Manufactures and Commerce will be holding demonstrations on melting brass in fruits and vegetables by means of which abstract pendants are produced.

These will take place at the society's premises at 219, Republic Street, Valletta on July 19 and 26, between 9 and 11 a.m.

Solemn adoration

A solemn adoration of the Blessed Eucharist, followed by benediction and Holy Mass, will take place at the Sanctuary of St Paul Shipwrecked, St Paul's Bay, every Thursday at 5.30 p.m., including today.

Prayer meeting

Moviment Madonna Tal-Konsagrazzjoni will be holding a prayer meeting at Girgenti, Siġġiewi on Sunday at 6.30 p.m.

Recollection evening

Opus Dei will be holding an evening of recollection for men at Lapsi church, Lapsi Street, St Julians, tomorrow at 7 p.m.
