A man who told the court that he is unemployed and spends his time octopus fishing was accused today of stealing a laptop from a car and damaging the vehicle.

42-year-old David Yates, who lives in Sliema was also charged with stealing a woman's handbag from another car.

Inspector James Grech said the stolen items had not been returned and the accused did not cooperate, completely denying his involvement when his DNA and fingerprints were all over.

He was remanded in custody.
