Video clip lands man in court

A woman who was browsing a CD supposedly containing photographs came across a video clip of her ex-boyfriend performing sexual acts with an underage girl. Her report to the police landed her former boyfriend in court.

Christopher Buttigieg, 25, from Zabbar, was charged with shooting or permitting the shooting of the video recording, defiling the 17-year-old girl, performing sexual acts with the girl and offending public morals. He was also charged with threatening his former girlfriend following the discovery of the video clip.

Mr Buttigieg pleaded not guilty to the charges. He was granted bail against a personal guarantee of €10,000.

Police Inspector Graziella Muscat prosecuted while lawyer Chris Cardona appeared for the accused.
