Czech business mission for Malta
A Czech business mission will be visiting Malta on July 11 for meetings with the Maltese business sector.
The mission will be in Malta as part of the celebrations marking the 40th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Malta and the Czech Republic and to revive trade contacts which had been established ever since.
The Czech Republic has been a long-standing trading partner with Malta and many Maltese companies have a good track record of business relations with their Czech partners. Although things have drastically changed since the Czech lands established a totally liberalised economy and became a full member of the European Union, opportunities for business have been taking a different trend from that of basic importation of products/commodities to business-related to service-oriented sectors. The Czech Republic, known to excel in technical and engineering know-how, is prepared to transfer this to Maltese entrepreneurs who would be interested in establishing partnerships both in Malta and in third countries.
The Czech business mission will include businessmen from the financial, energy, property and investment, travel, tourism and media services.
Officials from Czech Trade (The Czech Trade Promotion Organisation), Czech Tourism (The Czech Tourism Authority) and the Confederation of Czech Industries will also form part of the mission and will be making contacts with their counterparts in Malta.
This mission is a follow-up of a Malta business mission which visited Prague in September last year. Then, considerable interest was created especially from the Czech financial sector and a major part of this Czech mission to Malta is thus financially related.
The Ministry of Finance, the Economy and Investment through Malta Enterprise will be hosting the Czech business mission at their head office in San Ġwann on June 11 at 10 a.m., where a presentation on doing business with the Czech Republic will be held followed by a networking reception hosted by the Embassy of the Czech Republic in Rome and one-to-one meetings with Maltese businessmen. The Malta Financial Services Authority and Finance Malta have also given their full support to the mission and will be hosting mission members from the financial sector to a presentation and a networking reception with Maltese financial services sector at the Stock Exchange in Valletta on the same day, June 11, at 2 p.m.
Further information and registration for one-to-one meetings with members of the Czech business mission can be made on 2141 3893, 2141 2807, 2141 7428 or by e-mailing consulate@czech-malta.com.
