Dispute resolved at asylum-aid body
An industrial dispute at the Organisation for the Integration and Welfare of Asylum Seekers, a government agency, was resolved yesterday following a meeting between the Union Ħaddiema Magħqudin and the organisation's management.
The union had warned of industrial action because of the working conditions and employment of self-employed workers with the organisation that is tasked with helping migrants.
UĦM section secretary Joe Bonello said the union had sent a letter of warning on Sunday.
A spokesman for the Home Affairs Ministry confirmed that a meeting was held yesterday morning and the industrial action had been lifted.

Another useless state bureacracy, living off the productive sector.

What is it that our unions are so ready to resort in industrial action at Government's concern while we hardly hear of any industrial action in the private sector? Is it because Government employees are spoiled people knowing that the less they work they more they get?
