The Chamber of Advocates has called on the Ministry of Justice and Home Affairs to take "strenuous positive action" to ensure that no member of the Police Corps resorts to violence.
Reacting to reports of violence by policemen, the Chamber said it could not comment on the reports. It insisted, however, that public perception of the Corps as a protector of people's rights must not continue to be eroded.
"It is only by positive action that this trend will be reversed", the Chamber said.
