A taste of intercultural dialogue

The Minister of Education, Culture, Youth and Sport, Dolores Cristina has hailed the European Year of Intercultural Dialogue and encouraged the Maltese community to engage in such a dialogue with all people whether coming in Malta to live or on holiday.

Ms Cristina was speaking during the summer launch of Taste A Shared Culture programme at GS Superstore in Naxxar organised by St James Cavalier Centre for Creativity last week. The centre is the National Coordinating Body of the European Year of Intercultural Dialogue in Malta.

During the launch, members of diverse cultural communities in Malta presented African, Arab and Japanese delicacies such as sambusa, basboosa and sushi.

The programme will run for one year with the participation of Arkadia Foodstore, Portomaso, St Julians, Arkadia in Victoria, GS Superstore in Naxxar and Carter's Supermarket in Paola.

The 2008 European Year of Intercultural Dialogue is an initiative of the European Union with co-funding from the Ministry of Education, Culture, Youth and Sports.
