A 53-year-old woman was yesterday put on probation for two years after she admitted to stealing cash and jewellery from seven people in two hotels.

Magistrate Doreen Clarke heard Rita Cassar, of Marsa, admit to stealing cash and jewellery from six Russian nationals at hotel 115 The Strand, in Gżira on Saturday.

She also pleaded guilty to stealing cash from the Topaz Hotel in Buġibba earlier this year. Police Inspector Keith Arnaud prosecuted.
