Police remember fellow members departed

The Malta Police Corps yesterday launched its programme of activities to mark Police Day on July 12, by remembering departed fellow corps members during Mass at the Addolorata Cemetery chapel and with a wreath laying ceremony at the police graves there.

Mass was celebrated by Fr Ray Bonnici, police chaplain.

One of the highlights of the programme will be a police parade in St George's Square (Main Guard) in Valletta on July 11.

Another activity will be the annual show of animals owned by members of the Police Corps, which will be held in Valletta on July 5.

There will be open days at a number of police stations and displays by the various sections of the police force including the band, the dog section and the Silent Drill Team, among others, in the evenings in a number of localities.

An activity in Gozo on July 14 will round up the programme for this year, the 194th since the setting up of the force.
